Road closed in Benfleet following accident

A road was closed in Benfleet this morning following an accident at Benfleet Road, at the junction with Vicarage Hill.

Emergency services were called by Police to assist at the scene of the road traffic collision involving two vehicles.

Firefighters arriving at the scene reported no-one trapped, and made the vehicle and roadway safe, before leaving the incident at 9:25am.

Two casualties were treated at the scene and taken to Southend Hospital for assessment.

Crews rushed to the scene and reopened the road by 11am.
